Meal Packs

How to Refill

6 steps on what is a necessity, how to store and manage it

All of the Meal Packs and their Kitchen Guides are based on a Staples and a Weekly Ingredients split.

You’ll build a Staples store cupboard when you start out and use it across all the Meal Packs you select. Using the same recurring list of ingredients helps keep costs mega low and makes your weekly shop as small as possible!

Each Meal Pack then has its own list of fresh Weekly Ingredients you’ll need to buy – and don’t worry, we’ve made sure that all those Weekly Ingredients are used up across the 3 recipes in the Meal Pack.

Part 1.

How To Refill Your Staples

  • The in-app shopping list will remind you what staples you’ll need for the Meal Packs you’ve chosen, so you know what to add to your shopping list.
  • It’s up to you how you refill! We are all about reducing food and packaging waste, and refill centres are a great way to combat this.
  • Buying in bulk helps bring your costs down, as well as your consumption of single-use plastic. Refilling bottles of oil will save you splurging on that pricey glass or fancy plastic packaging too. Win win!

Part 2.

How To Store Them

  • Topping up from refill centres? Make sure you store food in airtight containers to lengthen their life. Dig out those old jars and dirty Tupperware, give them a good rinse in soapy water and let them dry thoroughly before using
  • Store your Staples in the right place – lots of them belong in the store cupboard, but things like mustard and mayo should be kept in the fridge once opened.

Part 3.

How To Organise Them

  • Organisation is key! Keep all your Staples in one place so they’re easy to access when you’re in a rush to cook that midweek meal.
  • Label them up so you know the difference between your ingredients – nobody wants to be seasoning pasta water with sugar!
  • Keep an eye on your ingredients so you know when to top up. And when you do buy new stock, put it at the back and move your older stuff forward to avoid losing old tins in the darkest depths of your cupboards.
